Stories about “50 Shades of Heavenly-blue”

Content of this website

Since 2010, I created two series. The first one is a series of paintings in tempera called “There is more between Heaven and earth”. Of this series you will see several paintings on this page. From 2013, I make pastel drawings. The series “50 shades of Heavenly-blue” consists of stories in which the pastel drawings are processed. I write the stories in Dutch and I do not have the English translation yet.
You often see Bible texts with the paintings and the drawings of both series.

The love of God

The stories and drawings of this series are about the love of God. The title “50 shades of Heavenly-blue” refers to the movie "50 shades of gray", which is about power and abuse. By the influence of that movie people can get lost in their relationship. An good intimate relationship is not based on power.
God says: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 New International Version)

Drawings

In august 2013, I started the new series of pastel drawings. The material is eco-friendly and consists of the finest quality kaolin with the purest pigments.

I always start with an intuitive sketch. I did not know the drawings would be part of stories then...
You can see a lot of drawings here.
Two stories in this series can be downloaded on the Dutch homepage since 2015.

Wives, … submit to your own husbands. Do this so that even if some of them refuse to believe the word, they may be won without a word by their wives’ way of life. After all, they will have observed the reverent and holy manner of your lives.
… make yourselves beautiful on the inside, in your hearts, with the enduring quality of a gentle, peaceful spirit. This type of beauty is very precious in God’s eyes.
